Variable damper (CDC) failure criterion |
Conditions
| Phenomena
| Maintenance considerations
|
Mechanical conditions
| Leaking oil
| An oil leak indicates that the part has failed and must be replaced.
|
Inner seam occurs
| An inner seam indicates that the part has failed and must be replaced.
|
Damaged connector
| Replace any damaged electrical connectors.
|
Excessive distortion
| Replace the applicable parts.
|
Electric conditions
| DTC code occurs: C2203/C2204/C2205/C2206
|
• |
Use a multitester to test the voltage at the two pins (1, 2) of the connector (check the connector for an open circuit). |
• |
Replace the damper if you detect an open circuit in the damper. |
• |
If the connections inside the damper are good, check the
connection between the damper and body-side connector before
reconnecting the connector. |
• |
If faults remain, remove the ECS ECU connector on the left
side of the trunk, and then check the relevant pins for open or short
circuits (also check the damper side for disconnections). |
• |
Take the proper measures according to the cause of the failure. Then, re-check the DTC code (in startup condition). |
