PTL Drive Unit (A).
Power trunk lid drive unit consists of motor & driven gear, PTL module, PTL motor and drive arm.
PTL drive unit is located in rear left trunk trim. PTL drive unit opens and closes the trunk connected push rod automatically. |

Power latch (A)
Trunk opened by actuator after releases of latch’s lock.
Built in the Micro switch for monitoring the latch lock & unlock status. |

Power Striker
By using actuator cinching the striker to go down strongly when the trunk is closed by motor.
Built in the micro switch for monitoring the striker’s position. |
4. |
SMK(Smart key)
Push the power trunk lid open of the SMK more than 0.1s to
open the power trunk. Power Open operation shall be reversed when an
additional Open/Close signal is received during power opening. |

Trunk inner switch (A) |
Operation |

Opening can be triggered receiving a signal from followings.
(Trunk outside handle S/W, Crash pad S/W (Push), SMK trunk open button) |
2. |
Power striker actuator will move the striker shaft by 6mm. (Full Close > Pop up) |
3. |
Release the locked E-latch. |
4. |
PTL module controls the driving motor, sector gear, push rod in order to open. |
5. |
The rotating speed of motor can be measured by Hall sensor which is built in motor.

Opening angle of trunk is calculated by counting the input pulse signal from Hall sensor.
x When PTL decides that motor restriction is caused by an
obstruction while opening the trunk lid, it stops after operating 50mm
repulsive movement. |

Closing can be triggered receiving a signal from followings.
(Trunk trim S/W, Crash pad S/W (Push) > It works while it is being pushed only. |

PTL module controls the driving motor, sector gear, push rod in order to close. |
3. |
Closing angle of trunk is calculated by the input pulse signal from Hall sensor. |

x If motor has restriction force during closing, it may be opened by repulsive force |

E-Latch contacts with the power striker shaft, and then E-Latch is locked mechanically. (Unlock > Lock) |

PTL module makes stop the PTL motor operation after detecting the E-Latch’s lock signal. |
7. |
Power striker actuator works and then make shaft position to move by 6mm. (Pop up > Full Close) |

When PTL decides that motor restriction is caused by an
obstruction at opening the trunk lid, it stops after operating 50mm to
the reverse direction. If motor has restriction force at closing, it may
be opened fully by repulsive force. |

PTL can be operated at the speed of less than 3Km/h. When
trunk is opened and closed after entering into ARM WAIT, the emergency
lamp will blink 3 times. |
