Hyundai Equus: Lower Arm Repair procedures
Replacement the lateral arm
1. |
Removal the front wheel & tire.
Tightening torque :
90.0 ~ 110.0 N.m(9.0 ~ 11.0 kgf.m, 65.0 ~ 80.0 lb-ft)

2. |
Disconnect the lateral arm (A) from the air strut assembly bracket by loosening the bolt & nut.
Tightening torque :
140.0 ~ 160.0 N.m(9.0 ~ 11.0 kgf.m, 101.0 ~ 116.0 lb-ft)

3. |
Removal the split pin and castle nut.
Tightening torque :
90.0 ~ 110.0 N.m(9.0 ~ 11.0 kgf.m, 65.0 ~ 80.0 lb-ft)

4. |
Disconnect the lateral arm (A) from the front knuckle using a SST (09568-2J100). 
|
5. |
Disconnect the lateral arm (A) from the frame by loosening the bolt & nut.
Tightening torque :
140.0 ~ 160.0N.m(14.0 ~ 16.0kgf.m, 101.0 ~ 116.0 lb-ft)

6. |
Installation is the reverse of removal.
Do not use the lock nuts again. |

Replacement the tension arm
1. |
Remove the front wheel & tire.
Tightening torque :
90.0 ~ 110.0 N.m(9.0 ~ 11.0 kgf.m, 65.0 ~ 80.0 lb-ft)

2. |
Disconnect the brake hose (A) from the tension arm by loosening the bolt. 
|
3. |
Removal the split pin and castle nut.
Tightening torque :
90.0 ~ 110.0 N.m(9.0 ~ 11.0 kgf.m, 6.5 ~ 8.0 lb-ft)

4. |
Disconnect the tension arm (A) from the front knuckle using a SST (09568-2J100). 
|
5. |
Disconnect the tension arm (A) from the sub frame by loosening the bolt.
Tightening torque :
140.0 ~ 160.0N.m(14.0 ~ 16.0kgf.m, 101.0 ~ 116.0 lb-ft)

Installation is the reverse of removal. |

Remove the rear wheel & tire.
Tightening torque :
90.0 ~ 110.0 N.m(9.0 ~ 11.0 kgf.m, 65.0 ~ 80.0 lb-ft)

2. |
Remove the air tube (A). 
|
3. |
Disconnect the rear stabilizer link (A) & height sensor (B) from the rear lower arm by loosening the nut. 

|
4. |
Loosen the cam bolt & lock nut and then remove the lower arm (A). 

|
5. |
Disconnect the air spring from the rear lower arm by loosening the bolt (A). 
|
6. |
Installation is the reverse of removal.

Take care not to twist upper and lower. |
• |
After transportaion, check the cleanliness. |
• |
Check the cap which prevents entering foreign materials on the connector of air filling portion. |
• |
Take care due to it is bended or defamed easily by external force. |

Check the bushing for wear and deterioration. |

Check the ball joint for rotating torque. |
